Device and method for preparing a profile of an elastomer thermoplastic gel

The device has a section die (34) adapted to a section of a flat profile (6) of an elastomer thermoplastic gel. A liquid cooling i.e. water, bath (36) has a free surface (38) to receive and cool the profile in an outlet of the die. A movable plane support receives the profile, and an anti-tack separator (42) is arranged on the support. The surface is arranged at the immediate vicinity of the outlet such that the inclination angle of the plane of the die relative to the horizontal is 20 and 70 degrees. The free distance between an end of the die and the surface is lower than 10 millimeters. The anti-tack separator can be a backing paper or a parchment paper. An independent claim is also included for a method for realizing a flat profile of an elastomer thermoplastic gel.
