The method for processing household appliance component (10) made of glass or ceramic material, comprises foaming up the glass or ceramic material in a partial area (12) of the component by processing the partial area with laser radiation (14). The partial area is heated at 300-400[deg] C before foaming, forms a marking or decoration of the component and is processed as a heat shielding in the component. The foamed partial area is processed in accessible or inaccessible surface in mounted condition of the component for user. An independent claim is included for a household appliance component.
