<p>A nanoparticle-containing binder is provided to show excellent scratch resistance as well as gloss and to ensure low cloudiness. An aqueous composition includes a silane-modified copolymer, a surface-modified inorganic particle and water. The surface-modified inorganic particle has less than 200nm of z-average molecular weight. The silane-modified copolymer includes the formula 1 of -Si(R1O)2R2. In the formula 1, R1 is a C2-C8 alkyl radical; and R2 is a C1-C5 alkyl radical. The silane-modified copolymer comprises: (meth)acrylic acid ester and/or vinyl ester having C1-C18 hydrocarbon radical; hydroxyl functional monomer; hydroxyl-functional hydrophobic polymer containing polymerizable silane-functional monomer; and acid-functional monomer.</p> |
