An image forming apparatus and a method thereof for receiving an image from an image storing apparatus are provided to transmit print data before selecting the print option of the image by reducing the latency time of the user. One or more image stored in an image storing apparatus is selected(S10). The print option of the selected image is set up(S30). The transmission of the selected image to the image forming apparatus starts before the setup completion of the print option(S20). The transmitted image is printed out based on the set printing option(S40).
