A radiator or heat exchanger comprises a plurality of channels joined together, each channel comprising a plurality of plastics panels 1 through which a heated fluid flows. The panels 1 are extruded, made of polycarbonate, and painted or pigmented black. The panels 1 may be mounted behind a secondary panel 4 so that they are concealed. The face of secondary panel 4 facing into a room can be decorated to match the d’cor of the room and the rear of the secondary panel 4 facing the black panels 1 may be black in colour to encourage convection currents to develop between the panels 1, 4. The radiator / heat exchanger may be attached to a wall by screws or to other conventional fittings at the four corners and at intermediate points for larger radiators / heat exchangers. The radiator / heat exchanger may function as a black body radiant heater or may be used to dissipate heat from an air conditioning system.
