Multimedia communication method, corresponding server and computer program product

The method involves detecting inability of a user terminal to process one of two components, and separating a media stream into a sub-stream with the other component and another sub-stream with the former component. The sub-streams are respectively transmitted to the terminal and a restitution device accessible to a user to process another stream in an internet protocol multimedia subsystem network (100) or H.323voice over internet protocol network. An access authorization is authenticated and delivered to the sub-streams for the device using an identifier of the terminal. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for communicating multimedia data between user terminals (2) a server for communicating to the user terminal comprising transmission units for transmitting multimedia stream.
