The invention relates to a two-piece piston (1) for an internal combustion engine, comprising an upper part (2), having a pin (31) with an external thread (32) on the bottom of its piston head (4), and a lower part (3), having a bottom part (25) to which a resilient sleeve (26) is formed radially inside, said sleeve being elastically extensible in the axial direction and the pin (31) being inserted therein to screw the upper part (2) and the lower part (3) together, the resilient sleeve (26) being elongated in the axial direction. In order to increase the stability of the resilient sleeve (26), the material of the resilient sleeve has a higher yield strength than the remaining piston material. The increase in yield strength is due to a lasting elongation of the resilient sleeve in the axial direction of approximately 1% of its length. |
