Solution processing techniques for organic semiconductor device fabrication

Double layer bank structures in which the upper bank layers 904 have a lower wettability than the upperbank layers 900 are used to define wells which receive organic semiconductor materials for OTFTs, OLEDs and OLED displays. The bank structure can accommodate well overfilling and are suitable for depositing the multiple layers required for OLEDs. The anti-wetting properties of the bank are regenerated after oxygen plasma cleaning processes by baking at 180{C in a nitrogen atmosphere. The bank layers may have a stepped profile. Fluorinated polymer materials having high contact angles and low wettabilities may be used for the upper bank layer. An adhesive layer may be provided between the lower and upper bank layers.
