METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING LATTICE MAP FOR ROBOT BY USE OF DRAWINGS

A method and a device for generating a lattice map by using a drawing are provided to make the lattice map at a low cost by reducing time, which is needed for performing measuring and making a map by a person. A drawing, which includes a physical dimension, for making a lattice map is received(S200). An original point is fixed on the received drawing and the received drawing is divided into lattices having a predetermined size(S204). It is checked whether a shape of the drawing including the lattices is a vector or general image format(S206). A size of a pixel and the lattice are converted into the physical dimension matched with the real physical size of the drawing when the shape of the drawing is the general image format(S208).
