WIRELESS BROADBAND INTERNET TERMINAL WITH ENHANCED RECEPTION OF GPS SIGNAL AND METHOD THEREOF

A handheld wireless internet terminal and an operating method thereof are provided to secure exact terminal information such as the location, speed and time even in a poor environment by improving GPS satellite signal reception. A handheld wireless internet terminal is composed of a GPS receiver(210), a wireless transceiver(220) and a re-detector(230). The GPS receiver detects a specific satellite signal among GPS satellite signals within a time range set by a timer. The wireless transceiver requests the information of GPS satellites obtained by a wireless internet base station when not receiving the specific satellite signal for the time range. The re-detector re-detects the specific satellite signal by using the information of GPS satellites received from the wireless internet base station.
