A display device and an electronic device are provided to remove reflection light from a protective cover arranged in the most surface and front side of the display device, thereby reducing influence by noise. A display device and an electronic device includes a display cell, a light-receiving cell(22), a lighting-emitting unit, a polarizing plate(28), and a phase difference plate(29). The display cell has a display circuit. The light-receiving cell comprises light receiving element. The lighting-emitting unit irradiates light in a display area side. The polarizing plate is arranged in the front side of the display device than the placement region of the lighting-emitting unit, and the formation area of the light-receiving cell and the display cell. As the phase difference plate is the front side than the light-receiving cell, the phase difference plate is arranged in one location of a light emitting way of the lighting-emitting unit and a reflecting light way to light-receiving cell.
