A method and a device for processing an image by using post-treatment of a sub pixel are provided to smoothly represent a brightness change between pixels by generating a temporary image for brightness of an image in consideration of property of the sub pixel and applying the post-treatment to the image. A temporary image is generated by receiving an image signal of an R(Red), G(Green), and B(Blue) region(S102). Post-treatment for the temporary image is performed(S103). The post-treatment image is converted into the image of the R, G, and B region, and the converted image is output(S105).
