An environmental friendly multi-purpose aquarium is provided to allow the animal and the plant to be observed in the natural state by cultivating the air purification plant at the back part of a water tub. An environmental friendly multi-purpose aquarium comprises a water tub(101) which is provided with a transparent member(100) at the front part and whose top is open; a waterspout(104) which is formed at the back part of the water tub and is sloped downward from the back part to the front part so as to the water supplied through a water supply pipe connected with a pump to flow to the front part; a frame(105) for a supporting stand which is formed under the waterspout and is laminated by at least one layer; a cultivation plate which is settled to the frame so as to be attached or detached and is provided with the plant cultivation soil; and the aquarium fish, the plant for air purification, and the natural stone forming the natural environment for the co-existent of them.
