A device and a method for measuring a channel switching time in a TV set are provided to enable a user to find a channel switching time simply and conveniently by automatically calculating the channel switching time without any additional equipment. An average value of a video signal corresponding to a current frame is read(S11). It is checked whether a screen color of a previous frame is a first color when an average value is greater than a preset value(S14). It is determined whether a channel switching signal is received when the screen color of the previous frame is the first color(S15). A channel switching time is measured based on the time receiving the channel switching signal and the time receiving the video signal corresponding to the current frame when the channel switching signal is received(S16). |
