METHOD FOR DESALINATING SALT-CONTAINING WATER USING COAGULANT

A desalination method using the titanium coagulant treatment process is provided to prevent secondary environmental pollution and enable the resources to be recycled by recovering a titanium compound used as a coagulant in the form of titanium oxides. A desalination method of salt water using a coagulant comprises: a pretreatment step of removing foreign materials or suspended solids contained in salt water; an aggregate forming step of adding a hydrolyzable titanium compound to the pretreated salt water, thereby performing an aggregation reaction between organic/inorganic matters contained in the salt water and the titanium compound to form an aggregate; an aggregate separation step of separating the aggregate from supernatant; a titanium oxide recovering step of sintering the aggregate to recover titanium oxides; and a desalination step of passing the supernatant through membrane modules to desalinate the supernatant.
