An auditory capacity measurement apparatus and a controlling method thereof are provided to diagnose an abnormal state of auditory capacity by measuring an auditory characteristic. An auditory capacity measurement apparatus includes a frequency band separation unit(100), a plurality of signal processing units(200), and a frequency band synthesis unit(300). The frequency band separation unit separates sound data for measuring auditory capacity according each of frequency bands. The signal processing units perform calculation operations by reflecting correction values of auditory levels on the sound data received from the frequency band separation unit. The frequency band synthesis unit receives the calculated frequency band data and generates sound data for measurement by applying an integrated correction value to the calculated frequency band data.
