An apparatus and a method for checking a firewall policy are provided to automatically check setting errors of a firewall policy and inform an operator of the setting errors, thereby providing a safe operating environment of the firewall system. When a check target firewall policy is a policy for an operating firewall system, an existing firewall policy applied to the firewall system is compared with the check target firewall policy(212). When the check target firewall policy is a policy for a new firewall system, a state that the firewall policy is applied to the new firewall system is simulated(214). |
