A data receiving method between portable terminals preventing the waste of the network is provided to receive data between portable terminals by performing a function of a file transmission protocol client and a file transmission protocol server. An SMS message is transmitted to two or more portable terminals including a desired data(S40). The portable terminal receiving the SMS message determines whether the data is transmitted(S41). The transport decision is received from the portable terminal receiving the SMS message. The portable terminal receiving the transmission executes a file transport protocol client mode(S42). Data are received from the portable terminal receiving the SMS message(S43).
