A boom buffering apparatus of a zero tail excavator and a control method thereof are provided to simplify a hydraulic circuit composition of a boom buffering apparatus and to cut down on costs and to secure stability of equipment. A boom buffering apparatus of a zero tail excavator comprises first and second hydraulic pumps(11,11a) connected to an engine(10), an operation lever(13) which outputs the actuating signal to be corresponded to the amount of manipulation by operator, a boom cylinder(14) connected to the first fluid pressure pump, a main control valve(16) controlling moving, pausing and redirection of the boom cylinder in switching, a boom rising operation detecting unit(19) detecting the boom increase signal pressure according to the amount of manipulation of the operation lever, a hydraulic pump flow rate calculation unit which computes the flow rate of the hydraulic pump required according to the detected boom rising operation amount, a boom join unit which lets the output flux of first and second hydraulic pump take part and supplied cylinder, a boom deceleration zone detector(17) which detects the boom deceleration zone in case of exceeding the revolution angle which is set up among the boom circulation domain, and flow rate controllers(18,18a) which control the output flux of first and second hydraulic pump with the control signal from controller in order to decelerate cylinder.
