A detachable wheel for a caterpillar and a connection/disconnection method thereof are provided to easily connect or disconnect a caterpillar to a vehicle without disassembling the caterpillar in a short time. A detachable wheel for a caterpillar includes first and second semi-cylindrical wheels(151a,151b) respectively alternatively detachable from a rotation shaft(A) of a vehicle body. The first and second wheels are respectively inserted into the rotation shaft and engaged with a caterpillar(110) along outer peripheral surfaces thereof so as to form surfaces forming diameters at both sides. The diameter forming surfaces of the first and second wheels are coupled with each other to form a cylindrical shape.
