FIELD: mechanics. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for cooling gas or fluid carried in pipelines. The proposed device comprises a casing with air feed and discharge openings, fan, heat exchanger, pipeline for cooled gas or fluid and manifold designed to feed evaporated fluid. The fan is arranged opposite the casing inlet opening. Pipeline to carry gas or fluid to be cooled is arranged opposite the outlet opening. The heat exchanger represents a set of vertical hollow plates arranged with a gap between them and inclined to horizontal line. Even plates are inclined by the angle opposite to that of uneven plates inclination and are shifted, relative to uneven plates, towards the inclination angle apex of uneven plates. The manifold is arranged above the said set of plates and represents a pipe with orifices arranged all along the part of pipe length above the set of plates. There are cuts made in every manifold plate, along its length, receiving wicks made from fibrous material, their lower ends being downed into the plate spaces. The wick upper ends are arranged flush with above the plates' surfaces.
