The device (1) has a spare wheel (3) with a rim (4) on which a tire is mounted (5). The spare wheel is housed in a basket (2) articulated under a floor (6) that maintains the spare wheel in top position, where the wheel is bound by a hook cooperating with a free end of the basket. An additional part (9) is fixed to the rim and blocks the translation of basket and the spare wheel by re-entering in contact with a crosspiece (10) during an impact subjected by a rear of vehicle. The piece is formed by an element (12) i.e. excrescence, to block the translation of the basket and the wheel.
