The device has a tank (2) containing a semi-fluid product that defines a free upper surface. A scraping unit (15) scrapes the upper surface of the product so as to deduct the product to be distributed, where the scraping unit is removably fixed on a receiving unit (5). The scraping unit and the upper surface of the product are driven in a relative movement such as rotation and axial displacement. The scraping unit gradually moves the product towards a product recovering space for recovering the product to be distributed. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for filling a semi-fluid product distribution device (2) a method for distributing a semi-fluid product.
