PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the positional precision of printing by dealing with the paper shrinkage caused in a lateral direction in the case of a double side printing in a tandem connection continuous paper laser beam printer. SOLUTION: With respect to the laser scanning direction of a paper sheet, a clock for every certain ratio as a reference clock which determines a cycle for turning on and off a laser in a front side printing mechanism, is used based on image dot data transmitted from a printer control unit to a laser control section inside a printing mechanism section. A printing width is thereby enlarged in the horizontal direction, that is, the width for printing coping with the paper shrinkage in the lateral direction is enlarged to enhance the positional precision in the tandem connection continuous paper laser beam printer.
