PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic recorder in which durability is improved by preventing printing obstacle that is caused by the external additive of toner and wasteful consumption of toner is suppressed. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic recorder includes a bias voltage application control means. This means exerts control in a manner described below. During the rotation before printing after the start of the rotation of a photoreceptor, a developing bias voltage application means is not allowed to operate during the passage of the non-printing area of the surface of the photoreceptor through a developing place; then, with the timing of the passage of a printing area through the developing place, the developing bias voltage application means is switched so as to actuate at a predetermined developing bias voltage, the printing area being formed from an electrostatic latent image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor with selected exposure by an electrostatic latent image forming means subsequent to the rotation before printing and, also a supply bias voltage application means is actuated in order to apply a supply bias voltage higher in absolute value than the developing bias voltage; and with the timing of the passage of the non-printing area of the surface of the photoreceptor after the rotation before printing through the developing place, the supply bias voltage application means is actuated after switched to the supply bias voltage equal to the developing bias voltage.
