PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely attain a moving body estimation control to be focused on a moving subject. SOLUTION: Predetermined timings during focusing and exposure operations are measured by the AF/AECPU 151 of the camera. The measured stopping process time of a focusing lens 102 is stored in a RAM 158. Based on the stored data, the stop processing time is estimated. Using the result of the estimation, a time lag relating to the moving body estimation control is estimated to exert moving body estimation control. Thus, although stopping process time required for the lens to stop may vary due to variations in the amount of drive of the lens, the highly precise moving body estimation control can be performed.
