PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize an unknown substrate connected to an optical waveguide by transmission/reception of a signal via the optical waveguide. SOLUTION: The signal processor 1A includes: the optical waveguide 2A where light input from any position in an outer circumference is output to all circumferential directions with a level corresponding to a positional relation with the input location; a master substrate 3M provided along the outer circumference of the waveguide 2A; and a single or a plurality of slave substrates 3S provided at any of a plurality of mounting locations different in position along the outer circumference of the waveguide 2A. As the light is output from a laser diode 30S of all of the slave substrates 3S connected with the optical waveguide 2A, the master substrate 3M recognizes the position and the number of the slave substrates 3S mounted from the level of the light corresponding to the arrangement of the slave substrates 3S transmitted through the waveguide 2A and input to a photo detector 31M of the master substrate 3M.
