An efficiency measurement method for powertrain of a vehicle is provided to measure accurate efficiency of powertrain in a simple way. An efficiency measurement method for powertrain of a vehicle comprises a step of measuring the amount of fuel consumed in the vehicle, a step of measuring the drive shaft torque of the vehicle, a step of calculating BMEP(Brake Mean Effective Pressure) power from the measured drive shaft torque, a step of calculating a fuel consumption rate from the calculated fuel consumption amount and BMEP power, and a step of calculating an indicated efficiency from the fuel consumption rate and the drive shaft torque.
