<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which suppresses an uneven consumption per color of color materials without incurring cost increase or lowering of a printing performance, and maximizes the number of printable sheets in a state of proper color reproducibility. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with: an input means (network interface section 101) for inputting a first type image signal; a conversion means (color conversion section 106) for converting the first type image signal into a second type image signal consisting of a plurality of color components; an image forming means (image forming section 200) for forming an image on a recording medium by using different color materials (toners), based on the converted second type image signal; a detection means (density sensor 212) for detecting a remaining quantity of each color material; and a correction means (image correction section 105) for correcting a blending ratio of color components of the first type image signal or of the color components of the second type image signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
