<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting apparatus capable of improving luminance and life characteristics, and a display device using the light-emitting apparatus as a light source. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting apparatus includes a first substrate and a second substrate arranged in opposition with each other, a cathode electrode formed along one direction of the first substrate on a surface of the first substrate, a gate electrode formed along a direction crossing the cathode electrode, an electron emission part electrically coupled with the cathode electrode, and a light-emitting unit formed on a surface of the second substrate and containing an anode electrode and a fluorescent layer.
