PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a misoperation in an imaging apparatus capable of corresponding to both an eye-level photographing and a low-angle photographing. SOLUTION: A display section angle detecting means 38 detects the angle of rotation of a display section rotatable to an imaging apparatus body. A finger hanging detecting means 40 detects whether or not a finger is hung to a finger hanging section on a main body base. A posture detecting means 42 detects the posture of the imaging apparatus body. An operation section controller 44 is supplied with outputs from trigger keys 16b and 18b and outputs from zoom keys 16a and 18a. The operation section controller 44 determines the state of the holding of the eye-level photographing or the state of the holding of the low-angle photographing by combinations of results of detections of detecting means 38, 40 and 42. The operation section controller 44 makes one of an operation pair of the zoom key 18a and the trigger key 18b and an operation pair of the zoom key 16a and the trigger key 16b valid and makes the other invalid according to the determination.
