PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light receiving amplifier that is reliably stopped during shutoff of supply of a supply voltage, and to provide an optical pickup device comprising a plurality of light receiving amplifiers. SOLUTION: In the light receiving amplifier including a light receiving element for converting an optical signal to an electric signal and an amplification circuit which amplified the electric signal output from the light receiving element and has the gain varied in accordance with a voltage input to a switch terminal SW, connections between the switch terminal SW and internal circuits in the light receiving amplifier, namely, circuits D11, D12, R13, R14, and Q15 in succeeding stages of a connection point P are disconnected by shutoff of supply of the supply voltage to the supply voltage terminal Vcc.
