PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new panel structure capable of extending a drive life of a PDP. SOLUTION: The PDP is provided with a pair of substrate structures arranged in opposition through a discharge space and one of the substrate structure is provided with a plurality of display electrodes on the substrate, a dielectric layer to cover the display electrodes, and a protection film arranged on the dielectric layer.
