The invention concerns a method for the regulation of a hose valve 14. According to the invention, a hose valve 14 is used as outlet means from the pressurised process. The hose valve has a minimum length that is twice the diameter of the hose, and a column of lime mud can be held within it as a pressure lock, and the column of lime mud can be caused to descend through the hose valve by controlling the difference in pressure between the inner surface and the outer surface of the hose such that the diameter of the hose expands essentially uniformly along its length by 5-10% or by at least 4-6 millimetres.
