<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize a loss of the whole discharge lamp lighting device by controlling voltage for driving a voltage control type switching element in response to lighting current of a discharge lamp varying from starting of lighting-up. <P>SOLUTION: The discharge lamp lighting device includes a primary current detection resistance 16 for detecting current flowing in a primary side circuit of a DC/DC converter 3, and a primary power supply circuit 7 for driving which makes voltage for driving increase by being controlled with a control section 11 when the detected current of the primary current detection resistance 16 exceeds a designated value higher than current at the time of stable lighting-up of the discharge lamp 6 and supplying the increased voltage for driving to a primary driving circuit 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
