PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply unit which thins at least part of wiring to a load from an output portion of power supply more than a thickness determined based on a maximum value of a current flowing through the load. SOLUTION: The power supply unit 11 includes a booster power supply 13 connected to a battery 12 of 12 V, and a power storage portion 14 to temporarily store energy output from the booster power supply 13. A motor drive circuit 16 to drive a motor 15 of EPS to the booster power supply 13 is connected in parallel with the power storage portion 14. The booster power supply 13 is set such that an upper limit of its output current value is a time average value or more of the current used in the motor 15, but less than the maximum value of the current used in the motor 15. A length of the wiring 23 up to the motor drive circuit 16 from the power storage portion 14 is set to be under a length of wiring 22 from the booster power supply 13 up to the power storage portion 14.
