PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive unit which suppresses operation noise generated when applying focus servo. SOLUTION: The disk drive unit 100 which emits light to a disk like recording medium 140 from an optical pickup 115 to at least record information, includes: a focusing mechanism 132 and tracking mechanism 131 which are prepared for the optical pickup which records at least information on the recording medium; a drive section 120 which drives both the mechanisms; a servo control section 123 which controls both the mechanisms through the drive section; a system control section 122 which controls the drive and servo control sections; and an eccentricity correction section 126 which corrects eccentricity of the recording medium by driving a tracking mechanism in synchronization with rotation of the recording medium before a tracking-on state is set in applying focus servo and tracking servo during driving of the recording medium.
