Exhaust gas treatment equipment in which a treatment unit for passing exhaust gas and removing fine particles and harmful gas therefrom can be easily fixed to a housing which constitutes a treatment chamber having an opening for supplying exhaust gas or exhausting purification gas in the sidewall. The exhaust gas treatment equipment comprises a housing (2) constituting a treatment chamber having an opening (1) for supplying exhaust gas or exhausting purification gas in the sidewall, a treatment unit (3) arranged in the housing (2) as a thick tubular body having an opening at one end of the central cavity communicating with the supply and exhaust opening (1) of the housing (2) and passing exhaust gas and removing fine particles and harmful gas therefrom, and a telescopic tension means (4) arranged between the sidewall of the housing (2) and the treatment unit (3) and pressing the treatment unit (3) in the direction of the sidewall or arranged between the sidewall of the housing (2) and two treatment units (3, 3) to separate the two treatment units (3, 3) from each other and pressing the two treatment units (3, 3), respectively, against the right and left sidewalls.
