PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing memory breakage with simple constitution.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forms an image of each color by rotating and moving a toner cartridge with a memory and corresponding to each of a plurality of colors. The image forming apparatus includes a main body side contact which performs communication by coming into contact with a contact of the memory with movement of the toner cartridge. After stopping the movement of the toner cartridge (Fig.(C)), the image forming apparatus decides that time taken until vibration comes to an end (Fig.(D)) elapses according to the change of a voltage level of a capacitor, and supplies power to the memory after the time elapses (Fig.(E)). Accordingly, separation of the contact by the vibration is prevented.
