<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a light efficiency by simple constitution, in a display. <P>SOLUTION: This display 2 is provided with a color filter, a photonic crystal, and a light lamp 27. The color filter has an R color of color filter 22r, a G color of color filter 22g, and a B color of color filter 22b. The photonic crystal has photonic crystals 23r, 23g, 23b. Only an R color of light is transmitted to get incident into the color filter 22r, when a light beam emitted from the light lamp 27 gets incident into the photonic crystal 23r, and lights other than the R color are reflected. The lights of G color and B color are reflected by a reflecting face 26a, only the G color of light is transmitted to get incident into the color filter 22g, when getting incident into the photonic crystal 23g, and the lights other than the G color are reflected by the photonic crystal 23g.
