PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a relay apparatus capable of transmitting information for controlling an electronic apparatus connected to a local area network to the local area network after sufficiently ensuring safety. SOLUTION: The relay apparatus is provided with: a cellular phone line response section 12 for establishing communication with a portable terminal 30 in response to a connection request from a cellular phone line 80; and an electronic apparatus connecting section 18 for establishing communication with an electronic apparatus connected to a domestic network 2, and transmitting the operation information used to operate the electronic apparatus which is transmitted from the cellular phone 30 to the electronic apparatus via the domestic network 2 in a state where communication is established between the cellular phone line response section 12 and the portable terminal 30.
