PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump type air conditioner capable of surely preventing the freezing of an outdoor heat exchanger and a drain pan in heating while maintaining high capability and high performance without any influence on cooling/heating capability and performance. SOLUTION: This heat pump type air conditioner 1 includes a gas injection circuit 33 for injecting an intermediate pressure refrigerant into an intermediate suction port 21A of a compressor 21, wherein an auxiliary heat exchanger 24 with an antifreezing function is provided below an outdoor heat exchanger 23, and a liquefaction injection circuit 36 for switching the intermediate pressure refrigerant evaporated by the gas injection circuit 33 by switching valves 34, 35 and introducing it, and guiding the refrigerant to the intermediate suction port 21A of the compressor 21 is connected to the auxiliary heat exchanger 24.
