PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer meter for combining an excellent visibility prevented from being affected by the quantity of external light, and a flexibility in a design. SOLUTION: The pointer meter 100 is disposed on the back face of an indexing member 2, and has a light guide 7 comprising a material for transmitting light, light emitting diodes 81, 82 for causing the light to enter into the light guide 7, and a scale 72 of the pointer meter 100. A recess 71 and a reflector 6 are provided on the back face 70b of the light guide 7. The external light 88a enters into the light guide 7 in an environment that the quantity of the external light is large, and is reflected by a reflector 6 so as to enable a driver to view it. The scale 72 obtains a difference in brightness between the periphery. Since the difference in the brightness can be obtained, a color of a light source is not constrained. The pointer meter 100 can obtain the visibility prevented from being affected by the quantity of the external light 88a, and the flexibility in the design. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
