The invention relates to a method and a device for gasifying solid fine-grained or dust-like fuels under pressure at elevated temperature to produce a useful gas with the character of a synthesis gas, wherein the solid and gaseous reaction products are conducted away from the reactor through respectively separate collecting devices and openings and the liquid reaction products (5) are transferred directly from the reactor into a device (9) containing water and are then discharged from the pressure-tight system through a depressurizing and removing device (10) and the collecting device and the opening for the gaseous reaction products (6) is provided on the inner side of the reactor with a collar-shaped protuberance (6a), behind which the gaseous reaction products are conducted out of the reactor in a substantially vertically downwardly directed flow and, directly downstream of the reactor, are mixed with a foreign gas in a quenching tube (8) to dissipate the internal energy, wherein the effect of gravitational force is used to feed the solidifying melts as solids into a device containing water (14) and discharge them from the reactor. |
