A partial plating product and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the adhesion between the core part and the cover part by forming the cover part after etching the core part. A manufacturing method of a partial plating product comprises a step of making a plastic core part(12) with etched surface, a step of making a body(10) by forming a plastic cover part(14) on the core part surface except for the part to be plated, a step of applying plating catalyst(15) to the core part surface which is exposed outside the body, and a step of forming a plating layer(20) in the part where the plating catalyst is applied. The core part is formed by injection-molding using an injection mold with concavo-convex part inside the cavity so that the core part surface is etched by the concavo-convex part.
