<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tissue sample holder for a biopsy device. <P>SOLUTION: The biopsy device includes a cutter which demarcates the inner lumen of the cutter, and a tissue sample holder for collecting tissue samples. In one embodiment, the tissue sample holder has a rotatable manifold configured to reorient a fluid from one axial direction to the opposite axial direction. The tissue sample holder also has a plurality of tissue sample trays, and can feed the fluid via the tissue sample trays. The tissue sample trays demarcate chambers respectively configured to hold tissue samples independently. The tissue sample trays are detachable from the manifold. A cup is configured to cover the manifold and the trays. A tissue sample holder revolving mechanism can be operated to continuously position the respective chambers of the tissue sample trays relative to the cutter inner lumen by revolving the manifold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
