<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine having an exhaust emission control catalyst and a particulate filter in an exhaust passage that can reduce exhaust emission in an early stage at a cold start and can remove PMs captured by the particulate filter in the early stage at the cold start. <P>SOLUTION: In an exhaust emission passage 12 of the internal combustion engine 10, the control device includes an upstream three-way catalyst 16 and a downstream three-way catalyst 22 that are capable of purifying exhaust gas, and a particulate filter (PM filter) 18 for capturing particulate matters PM contained in the exhaust gas. The device performs catalyst warm-up control at the cold start in order to warm up mainly the upstream three-way catalyst 16. After the catalyst warm-up control is performed, the device performs filter regeneration control in which the particulate matters PM captured by the particulate filter 18 at the cold start are removed from the filter 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
