<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound deadening mask for a telephone of which sound deadening performance is improved and speaker is allowed to breathe well. <P>SOLUTION: The sound deadening mask for a telephone includes a mask body 11 for covering a microphone opening. Speech is made to a mobile phone through a microphone m installed inside the mask body, and the voice of speaker is hard to be leaked outside. The mask body 11 includes a sound shielding layer 13 made from a material having no breathablility, and an air-intake check valve 18 and an exhaust check valve 19 are formed at the sound shielding layer 13. The air-intake check valve 18 is such a check valve as ventilation from the outside of the sound shielding layer to the inside is allowed while ventilation in the opposite direction is not allowed.
