<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element having high photoelectric conversion efficiency, and a photochemical battery. <P>SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion element contains an asymmetric dinuclear metal complex pigment represented by the general formula: (L<SP>1</SP>)<SB>2</SB>M<SP>1</SP>(BL)M<SP>2</SP>(L<SP>2</SP>)<SB>2</SB>(X)<SB>n</SB>(where M<SP>1</SP>and M<SP>2</SP>denote transition metals and are identical with or different from each other, L<SP>1</SP>and L<SP>2</SP>denote chelate ligands capable of multidentate coordination and are different from each other, two L<SP>1</SP>may be different from each other and two L<SP>2</SP>may be different from each other, X denotes a paired ion, n denotes the number of paired ions necessary for neutralizing a charge of a complex, and BL denotes a bridging ligand having at least two cyclic structures containing heteroatoms that are coordination atoms coordinated to M<SP>1</SP>and M<SP>2</SP>), a steroid-based compound having a steroid skeletal structure and a carboxyl group, and a semiconductor fine grains. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
