<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus, an authentication method, a program, and an information processing system capable of limiting usage of a reader/writer function in each reader/writer function mounting device in the reader/writer function mounting device provided with a reader/writer function. <P>SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus capable of performing communication with the reader/writer function mounting device having the reader/writer function for transmitting a carrier wave includes a communication unit for performing the communication with the reader/writer function mounting device, a key information storing unit for storing a unique controller secret key and an authentication objected public key which is unique in each reader/writer function mounting device which becomes an authentication object, and a reader/writer function control unit for authenticating usage of the reader/writer function in the reader/writer function mounting device based on first authentication information to be transmitted in response to a request after requesting the authentication information relating to the reader/writer mounting device and the controller secret key and the authentication objected public key which are stored in the key information storing unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
